TK Elevator introduces EOX, a low- to Mid-rise Elevator that is both Eco-friendly and Digitally Native

Date:

TK Elevator, one of the elevator industry’s global market and innovation leaders, is introducing EOX in North America.

With its space-saving design, innovative technologies, and shorter lead times, the eco-friendly elevator platform is designed to suit the needs of two- to ten-story structures. TK Elevator has responded to the needs of architects, developers, and building owners by developing a solution that is designed to match most budgets and construction timetables, providing them what they need and more.

EOX includes features that are often reserved for premium products:

  • Advanced digital services increase uptime and extend product lifespan
  • In-car multimedia display entertains and informs passengers with custom content
  • Regenerative drive captures energy and feeds it back into the building
  • Eco-mode reduces the elevator’s speed and acceleration during low traffic times
  • Enhanced in-car sensors monitor entrance safety and ride quality
  • Security features include two-way chat, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and in-car camera connected through IoT platform MAX

“Elevators are an essential part of modern infrastructure and urbanization. To keep up with customer and rider expectations, TK Elevator will continue to ensure our products evolve through innovation,” Jeremy Rainwater, CEO Americas, stated. “EOX is designed to reduce operating costs for our customers and provide them with an affordable elevator that is smart, sustainable and ready for the future.”

TK Elevator is dedicated to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and collaborating with customers to meet their carbon reduction goals. As a result, a focus on carbon reduction was included into the product design, influencing material selection. The elevator’s counterweight, for example, is 40% concrete, which means it has less embodied carbon than a steel-only version. The elevator is also hundreds of pounds lighter than prior models, allowing for greater economy without losing durability or safety.

EOX is manufactured in the United States with 100% renewable energy. It was created, qualified, and tested in the LEED Gold Certified Innovation and Qualification Center of TK Elevator in Atlanta. TK Elevator has also trained over 200 LEED Green Associates and BREEAM Associates around North America to assist architects, general contractors, and building owners in obtaining green building certifications for their projects.

Every EOX has the cloud-based predictive maintenance solution MAX as standard. It analyzes performance data to educate clients about the “health” of their elevator, allowing building managers and TK Elevator’s service specialists to make faster, more efficient decisions. This data-driven strategy has the potential to reduce elevator downtime by up to 50%. Customers can additionally enhance their tenants’ experience using touchless technology, AGILE Mobile. Riders can use the digital technology to order an elevator via their smartphone or smartwatch.
