Accoya USA sets ground on a new facility in Tennessee

Date:

Accoya USA LLC started work on its US production facility in June and plans to start producing Accoya in early 2024.

Accsys and Eastman, a multinational speciality materials firm, collaborated on the project.

According to Accoya, the largest potential geographic market is North America.

“Our sales in North America grew 44% between our fiscal 2021 and 2022 years and we are seeing continued strong demand for Accoya,” Accsys’ group sales director, John Alexander, stated.

“Once operational, the Kingsport site will double our Accoya 2022 production volumes.”

The Kingsport facility, which will be operational in early 2024, will provide the North American market, while the Netherlands plant will supply the rest of the world. The American reactors are now on their way from Europe and will arrive in Kingsport in January 2023.

“We are excited to join the Kingsport community and witness the progression of the U.S. facility,” Rod Graf, Accoya USA’s general manager, said.

“Our state-of-the-art facility will increase capacity, create local jobs, and build community. We are also excited to collaborate with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology and Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing to be a preferred employer in the region as we begin production.”

Accoya USA LLC will be the name of the US factory, which will create more than 50 new jobs in the Kingsport area.
