Meghan Trainor’s hit song “All About That Bass” is one of the most popular songs in 2015 but it seems like the song is staying in the airwaves for a little bit more, thanks to a number of parodies and spoofs that use the song as base.
For example, just recently, the video of a teacher’s hilarious spoof for the song has gone viral.
Third grade teacher Shelley Faulkner of McRae Elementary School in Searcy Arkansas made her own lyrics to the song, now entitled, “All About Those Kids”.
The teacher performed it during the school’s winter party – with awesome feedback not just from her audience but from people across the world who saw her video after supportive husband Mat Faulkner posted it on Facebook.
In just 2 days, the video has already gained over 2.4 million views!
Parts of the parody include lyrics like, “I work all day and night, tweaking my lesson plans. Don’t even need to sleep, I’m just a superman!”
The first chorus went this way:
“Because you know we’re all about those kids, ’bout those kids…first duty. All about those kids, ’bout those kids…another duty. All about those kids, ’bout those kids…last duty. All about those kids, ’bout those kids…let’s bring the recess back!”
Aside from those hilarious lines, you’ll also find other creative words all throughout the song, mostly bemoaning the life of a teacher in a funny way.
For instance, Shelley hints about receiving low salary in the line, “Now my principal told me don’t worry about the pay. Maybe America will appreciate you some day.”
Performed in front of fellow teachers and their spouses, the song did gather a good number of laughs but since it has gone viral, this just shows that it just might be possible that many teachers are overworked and underpaid, right?
